Dog and Cat Diary Excerpts

I found this amusing and it seems like my cat Minky wrote the cat part. I don't know who wrote it to give them credit.

Excerpts from a Dog’s diary:
8:00 am - Dog food! My favorite thing!
9:30 am - A car ride! My favorite thing!
9:40 am - A walk in the park! My favorite thing!
10:30 am - Got rubbed and petted! My favorite thing!
12:00 pm - Lunch! My favorite thing!
1:00 pm - Played in the yard! My favorite thing!
3:00 pm - Wagged my tail! My favorite thing!
5:00 pm - Milk Bones! My favorite thing!
7:00 pm - Got to play ball! My favorite thing!
8:00 pm - Wow! Watched TV with the people! My favorite thing!
11:00 pm - Sleeping on the bed! My favorite thing!

Excerpts from a Cat's diary:

Day 983 of my captivity...

My captors continue to taunt me with bizarre little dangling objects. They dine lavishly on fresh meat, while the other inmates and I are fed hash or some sort of dry nuggets.

Although I make my contempt for the rations perfectly clear, I nevertheless must eat something in order to keep up my strength.

The only thing that keeps me going is my dream of escape. In an attempt to disgust them, I once again vomit on the carpet.

Today I decapitated a mouse and dropped its headless body at their feet. I had hoped this would strike fear into their hearts, since it clearly demonstrates what I am capable of. However, they merely made condescending comments about what a 'good little hunter' I am. Bastards.

There was some sort of assembly of their accomplices tonight. I was placed in solitary confinement for the duration of the event. However, I could hear the noises and smell the food. I overheard that my confinement was due to the power of 'allergies.' I must learn what this means and how to use it to my advantage.

Today I was almost successful in an attempt to assassinate one of my tormentors by weaving around his feet as he was walking. I must try this again tomorrow -- but at the top of the stairs.

I am convinced that the other prisoners here are flunkies and snitches. The dog receives special privileges. He is regularly released - and seems to be more than willing to return. He is obviously retarded.

The bird has got to be an informant. I observe him communicating with the guards regularly. I am certain that he reports my every move. My captors have arranged protective custody for him in an elevated cell, so he is safe. For now......

Crazy

Life has been kinda crazy. Work stuff heated up and got really busy and everything with the family room project is still going wrong at home. I'm leaving for Vegas in the morning and I'm not ready at all! Hopefully I'll finally be able to relax once I'm on the plane tomorrow morning.

October

October.
And the trees are stripped bare
Of all they wear.
What do I care?
October.
And kingdoms rise,
And kingdoms fall,
But you go on, and on.

- Bono

Why Bother

Ashlee Simpson celebrated her 25th birthday in Las Vegas at MGM's Wet Republic pool party recently. Why did she bother having this at a pool? Look at how they are dressed? My guess is that Pete doesn't own a swim suit and there is no way Jessica is going to wear a bathing suit in public for fear of ridicule....so Ashlee, who is super thin again, wore street clothes as well. Why didn't she have her party in a club or something?

What a Mess

We bought a plasma TV a few weeks ago with the idea of mounting it above the fireplace and redecorating the family room. One thing after another keeps going wrong. We were supposed to have the TV mounted yesterday, but the place emailed me at 9pm the night before saying they couldn't do it until Sunday. I was annoyed by this because I had planned on painting later in the day on Saturday and all day Sunday once the TV was out of the way. So today they came and mounted it and it looked great...except none of the HDMI ports work. They all worked before, now they don't. So now I get to sit home and wait for the Panasonic repair man to come out sometime between 1 and 4 on Wednesday to try to fix it. Ugh. Oh and they won't look at it if its on the wall so it's back on the stand and the area above the fireplace is a mess of holes and wired. The goal was to try to have the room all done before my dad comes to visit (in less than two weeks). We have been working on this room for a while and we keep having problems every step of the way. We have a lot of work to do to get the room ready before he arrives and I'm going to be gone for 3 days next weekend. I've just accepted that it will be a mess when my dad gets here...although relatively clean since the last time he was here we were in the middle of the kitchen remodel.

Yoga: Attempt # 1

So the yoga class wasn't really what I expected. I'm not sure what you would call it...heated power yoga with some pilates and crunches thrown in? It was not relaxing at all, but a pretty good work out instead. That's great, but just not what I'm looking for because it was way to strenuous on my neck, which made my neck hurt and gave me a headache. My neck problems refer pain to my head (so I'm told) so anything that's bad for my neck is bad for my head. I've been feeling worse in general since the class so I need to find something more "gentle". Stay tuned for my next try at a different place.

Are You Cold?

I am one of those people who is always cold. I always have a blanket on me when I'm watching TV on the couch, it just varies in weight between summer and winter. I tend to be really cold at indoor places with air conditioning such as work and restaurants. I am so cold at work most of the time that I wear my jacket a lot. I've asked the facilities department to warm up my area, but the fact is I sit under a vent and I'm not giving up my spot by the window to be away from the vent. They got the air to stop blowing constantly on me, but it's still cold. Fair enough...I just bundle up. Today I'm wearing a sweater and I still have my jacket on until I warm up from coming back from lunch (it's 70 degrees outside). Inside the A/C is blowing away like it's July. I'm fine with all this, but what gets me is when someone sees me with my jacket on and asks me if I'm cold? Duh..I wouldn't be wearing all this if I wasn't.

Becoming a Yogi

I'm finally going to do it...tonite I am going to my first ever yoga class. I've been told by multiple doctors for years that it would be good for me to do for various reasons...I'm finally trying it now because I'm hoping it will help my neck/headache issues. I apparently have myofascial pain and trigger points and am told yoga may help this. I admit to be being nervous. I have no idea what to do or how to act. There was a little bit of yoga in my boot camp classes, but not enough to make me comfortable trying this. Oh and to make this even more intimidating, I'm going to a place that heats the room. OY!
